A Chinese EV manufacturer recently announced the establishment of an electric vehicle plant and showrooms in Pakistan. The plan is to set up EV showrooms in multiple cities in Pakistan.
On September 14, 2023, a delegation of Xinjiang Jingyi Chen Group, during a meeting with FPCCI, revealed that an EV manufacturing plant and showrooms will be established in Pakistan. The Chinese delegation was led by the assistant chairman of the Xinjiang Jingyi Chen Group, Mr. GU Xongquan.
Vice President FPCCI Amin Ullah Baig discussed with the Chinese delegation about the investment landscape in Pakistan. Mr Baig is also the chairman of the FPCCI Capital Office.
Mr. GU Xongquan highlighted that entering the Pakistani market is a long-term business plan. He highlighted that cars are the primary means of commuting in Pakistan.
He said that;
“In the long run, electric cars save much more fuel cost than petrol-run vehicles.”
Mr. GU also said that the Xinjiang Jingyi Chen Group is looking forward to developing automobiles with high-end technology and integrating resources.
The Vice President of FPCCI asked the Chinese company’s delegation to facilitate their investment scheme that would benefit both countries. He underscored that Chinese EV brands are reliable, leading the industry with technologically advanced automobiles.
In a world where fuel prices are on the rise and transportation is becoming increasingly challenging, the introduction of electric vehicles in Pakistan promises to make a substantial impact.
